Miami Dade County, Fla. selects ACA to a new four year 7.2M contract
Miami Dade County, Florida Office of Capital Improvements selects Aerial Cartographics of America, Inc. to provide Photogrammetric Mapping and Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) Services. This four year contract of over 7M dollars will be shared by both the Miami-Dade Co. Aviation Department and the Counties ETSD office. Services will include new digital aerial photography, survey, digital mapping, ortho photography and GIS services. Mapping will be performed to FAA 18b standards for all aviation assignments and Department of Revenue standards for all county digital orthophoto products. Aerial flights are expected to begin winter of 2012.

ACA continues growth and expansion of Power Line Mapping and Modeling
ACA recently completed over 500 miles of transmission line acquisition using its new Leica RCD30 true ortho mapping camera, Riegl 680i 400Khz LiDAR Sensor, and its new advanced digital Falcon oblique video and oblique still imaging system. The new results of the color and color infrared orthos and video are superior to prior technology in the industry today said David Ledgerwood, Senior Vice President and Branch Manager. ACA has evaluated and tested many of the technologies and feels confident that the latest and best imagery and LiDAR technologies are being implemented to generate map and modeling accuracies better than +/-0.25 ft X,Y,Z, for Transmission Lines.
